Questions and Answers

In our private practice we have sufficient time for each patient. Naturally patients covered by the national health scheme can come to us as private patients and pay for the costs. We love to work with patients who are interested in their health – regardless of their insurance status. We adhere to the fee schedule  for physicians (GOÄ). The costs for the initial comprehensive examination and consultation would be € 50 to € 70. Should we believe it necessary to follow-up with other check-ups or some medical treatment we would, of course, provide you with detailed information and make sure that you’re fully aware of the costs based on the fee schedule (GOÄ). In most cases the treatment is equivalent to the so-called “individual treatments” (IGEL) for patients under the national health care. However, they will not be reimbursed despite their proven effectiveness. Some of our treatments given as part of our sports check-ups, diagnostics for endurance sports, diving medicine and orthopedic surgery are partially covered by the national health scheme because we are highly qualified. Please contact us to find out more – we’ll be very pleased to give you full advice.

Yes, of course. It depends on the type of surgery but usually this is possible.

In most cases you’ll be able to walk after the OP with the help of a special shoe. However, we recommend you take things easy to start with.

No, you don’t. If you’re privately insured and have your card ready it will be easier for us to quickly upload your data into our patients’ database. In principle, though, we don’t need the insurance card.

Yes, of course. You don’t need a referral, regardless of your insurance status. If you’re covered by the national health insurance our treatment will be charged based on the fee schedule for physicians. The costs will be explained to you in full detail.

Unfortunately not, you would have to contact a so-called “Durchgangsarzt”(accident insurance consultant). This would be a doctor working with the school or your employer, so please contact either the school or your company’s HR representative for further information.
