Vita

After studying medicine, Sylvia Pauli started working as assistant doctor in the trauma surgery ward of the hospital “Städtische Krankenanstalten Bielefeld-Mitte”. From 1988 through 1993 she worked in the Clinic for Orthopedics of the “Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität” in the city of Münster. Here she was responsible for tumour consultations and orthopedic surgery on infants. However, she was also  responsible for hip ultrasounds for babies, the fitting of harnesses and braces, special shoes, correction gypsum and corsets. In 1992, she passed her specialist’s exam at the “Ärztekammer Westfalen-Lippe”.

Afterwards, Dr. Pauli worked in the practice for orthopedics of Dr. Kaiser in Oberursel. From 2003 until 2006 she was employed as assistant doctor for visceral surgery and thorax surgery at the Florence Nightingale Hospital in Düsseldorf-Kaiserwerth led by Prof. Schultheis.

However, after this excursion she went back to the world of orthopedics and became head of the A&E for orthopedics and trauma surgery of the Johanna Etienne Hospital led by Prof. Dr. J. Jerosch.

Nevertheless, because of her fascination for the holistic therapy of the musculoskeletal system Dr Pauli left the hospital to work for doctors who practice holistic medicine (Practice for Orthopedics Dr. Dann/Dr. Arnold; Dr. Rolf Wlasak, Meerbusch; Practice for Orthopedics Dr. Folker Franzen, Bergisch Gladbach). She focussed mainly on acupuncture and osteopathy but also on injections, shock wave therapy and kinesiology taping.

Currently, Dr. Pauli is also working for a practice for orthopedics in Velbert. She loves playing tennis for DTC84 in Düsseldorf and is the mother of 2 children.
